Developing SMART goals for the Masters of Educational Technology (MET) program helped me to organize and make decisions about specific learning experiences and has directed my personal course selection throughout the MET program.
Through regular reflection, exploration, and examination of my academic and professional experiences and accomplishments, I developed the following goals and intend on accomplishing these goals upon graduation from the MET program in April 2023.
Goal 1

Upon the completion of my MET journey in April 2023, I will have gained a foundational knowledge of learning theories (i.e., constructivist, connectivism, behaviorist, and cognitivist) which I can apply and connect to my andragogical teaching practice with adult learners. I will know that I am successful when I use the learning theory to reflect on and guide andragogical decisions, instructional practices, and instructional design for digital and online learning and by creating learning environments that provide my students with a deeper learning experience.
Goal 2

Upon the completion of my MET journey in April 2023, I will have acquired a robust pool of resources and tools that I can use to inform my own teaching practice, developed several collaborative productions and learning experiences using digital learning tools that I integrated in my own professional context, and gained a network of educational professionals that I can inquire on to help guide me as I move forward. I will know that I am successful when I am able to identify a resource from my own established repository to meet the resource requirements for projects and assignments related to teaching, development, and design.
Goal 3

In the next 12 months and years to come, I will be a leader in and advocate for the integration of educational technology in adult and higher education and I will share my knowledge and experiences with colleagues, peers, and students in order to improve their own learning experiences that they have with digital learning technology and environments. I will know that I am successful when I am working as an instructor, instructional designer, or technology specialist in the field, mentoring and coaching colleagues in using educational technology, and developing learning experiences that integrate educational technology.
